Personality:
The first big thing to note and you can NEVER miss about Yako is that she's a glutton =P Don't ask me why she doesn't ever become obese or what; I dunno either xD She has a huge (and strange) appetite and she... Can't control her hunger when she sees food. And example is when she was at a hotel and she finished (I think) the whole buffet there. She likes eating because food makes her happy, forget her worries and relief stress (mentioned in episode 1). She often finishes most of the food that she buys for other people, e.g.: a basket of apples she bought for someone- she ate all leaving only one apple left. Because of her huge appetite, she's known as 'The Piggish Detective' much more often than 'The Highschool Detective' and she's thus easily recognized. An example: "Oh! This face, this eating style. Could you be the 'piggish' detective?"
She is honest, cheerful, kind and straightforward. Even though Neuro tortures her a lot, when he is in trouble/ a seemingly icky situation (mostly when he's injured), she becomes worried and asks about his condition, etc.
She also isn't your typical heroine with some supernatural power or something xD she's like um... You could put it as physically 'weak'? She can barely defend herself, so she is highly dependent on Neuro when she in a dangerous situation that she cannot wiggle her way out of (that would be... most of the cases they have solved so far). As such, Neuro often degrades her to an amoeba or a louse or 'having a brain smaller than a worm's'... Not that he even thought highly of humans in the first place anyway. Neuro also refers to her as servant number 1. This is also why Neuro can easily control, manipulate and force her to do whatever he wants her to do, not to mention teasing and torturing her for his own entertainment. She is often pushed/ dragged around by Neuro.
In the beginning, she is shown to have little or zero detective skills. However, after being Neuro's assistant and watching Neuro solve cases, she is then able to at least help Neuro solve some cases, meaning she gradually picked up some detective skills along the way. She is able to pick up stuff that Neuro hints to her, but if I were to gauge her skills alone, her level is quite far below a decent detective's. There was once where she had almost pointed out the wrong criminal. Fortunately, Neuro smacked and stopped her eheheh xD
However, she has been shown to be highly empathetic and therefore has a high understanding on human psychology. Because of this, she has been able to persuade people (sometimes criminals) to reflect on their actions and what she says can assure/ reassure people positively. Quote: "Neuro destroys the outside, Katsuragi catches the criminal's heart."

Dreams: I would say that she hopes that her mystery to be solved... However, there was an episode named: 'Dream', where she herself says that 'I'm still not sure of my own dreams'.
Fears: I would say that she's afraid of Kaitou Sai and Neuro xD I would also guess that she doesn't want to lose those important to her. Other fears are not knownnn

A major difference between the manga and the anime: manga, Yako's mystery (father got killed) has been solved by Neuro. anime, Yako's mystery is still unsolved. Also, Neuro is much nicer to Yako in the anime xD
In the anime, Yako's mother went some place away from japan because she's a freelance writer/ journalist, therefore Yako is alone. However, in the manga, Yako's mother is still together with Yako and along with a caretaker.

[ If you're anywhere near the fountain, you can see a human figure emerging from the fountain and as usual, the ink slowly drips off to reveal... A female high school student of some sort with slightly dark yellowish-orange short hair. ]
Ew... Well. At least it wasn't Neuro's Evil Canceler tool again...
[ She brushes off any remaining liquid and soon realizes that she's not in her rightful world. ]
Oh no. Where is this place?!..... Hmm? Something smells... Nice......
[ She should've been panicking now but she doesn't. You know why? Because YOU are either selling food, eating food, or having some sort of food on you at this time because she is unconsciously walking to wherever you are, staring at that foodand drooling. She's obviously hungry D: Give her food ;; ]
